Chetichand and Chetichandra is an important festival celebrated by Sindhi Hindus which is celebrated on the first day of Hindu lunar new year. This day is celebrated as the appearance day of Varunavatar Swami Jhulelal and Samudra Puja. Sindhi Hindus living in other parts of the world also celebrate Chetichand. Apart from Sindhi Hindus, Bahawalpuri Hindus also celebrate this festival. It is celebrated on the first day of Chaitra month (i.e. on the day of Varsha Pratipada) according to the Hindu calendar.
