This is the story
It is said that once a king of Rajasthan came to Vrindavan to visit Banke Bihari and he kept looking at Lord Banke Bihari for a long time. After this the king went back to his kingdom. After some time, the temple servants came to the temple and saw that God was not present there. This incident created panic among the temple priests. When God was praised, it was revealed that God had gone away from there with his devotee under the influence of his love. After much prayer the deity was reinstalled in the temple. Since then till today no one is allowed to look at God here. Serving priests take special care that no devotee can see them continuously. For this, a curtain is drawn in front of the idol after some time.
